Abstract

Religious tourism is a form of tourism that is not only for recreation, but also as a means of spiritual fulfillment, inner peace, and understanding of historical and cultural values. Turgo hill and the tomb of syekh jumadil kubro in yogyakarta are religious tourist destinations that offer natural attractions, historical value, and strong spiritual significance. This study aims to determine the travel experiences of tourists visiting the religious tourism sites of turgo hill peak and the tomb of syekh jumadil kubro in yogyakarta. this study uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research informants consist of managers and tourists selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing with data validity testing using triangulation. the results showed that tourist travel experiences were formed through three stages, namely before, during, and after the trip. tourists are motivated by spiritual goals, feel calm and have religious experiences while at the location, and gain inner peace and a desire to return. This study concludes that this destination has great potential for the development of sustainable religious tourism while maintaining its spiritual, cultural, and environmental values.
